A Look Ahead

December 31st, 2006 by wordpres

As 2006 comes to a close and we look forward with anticipation to 2007, think about those resolutions that you won’t keep. My friend, Jill Koenig, has a way to keep those resolutions. Turn them into GOALS! Jill is The Goal Guru and she has written a new book called New Year, New Life: How To Make 2007 your Best Year Ever!

I urge you to visit her site, http://www.goalguru.com, and grab a copy of her book. Here is what Jill has to say about goals,

The purpose of setting Goals is to help us stretch and grow beyond
where we are today, to live a life that is fulfilling beyond our wildest
dreams, to bring our visions to fruition. Goals are meant to provide
us with direction.

As entrpeneurs, we need to set our goals and see them clearly. Jill’s site and book help us do that. A note: the link in this article is not an affiliate link so don’t think I’m promoting to make money. I am not! I believe strongly in goal setting and want you to believe in it too.

Where’s The Video?

December 20th, 2006 by wordpres

Obviously, the video is not up yet.  I have had issues with my video recording software but in the meantime there have been many requests for a podcast rather than a video.  Many of you have pointed out that a podcast will make it easy to follow along with your own project while a video requires both listening and watching.

So - podcast it is.  Look for it soon - this time I promise that it will be sooner rather than later.

Tweaking a New WordPress Theme

December 5th, 2006 by wordpres

When you deploy a new theme on a site that already has content you will probably need to modify it to personalize it for what you want to appear.  Notice that I changed Page 1 to About and inserted the path to my page in the href section of the code. You can see the difference if you look at Page 2. The href code that follows is simply “#”.

The video will show how to change Page 2 to Newsletter Archives. Until then - look around the files in Presentation, Theme Editor. Don’t be afraid to look at and think about the code. The people who write WordPress themes are generally very good at labeling sections in plain English so you can find what you want to change.

Posting

December 1st, 2006 by wordpres

I’ve had a mixed bag of comments regarding the speed of this site - that is posting frequency.  Some of you like it the way it is, some think it is too slow and some think it is too fast.  I’m going to experiment with video so those of you who miss something will be able to see it as it happens since nearly everything I do changes the site in some manner.  The first video will be up soon so stay tuned!
